## The short version

Ember does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Your sessions, settings and clock faces live on your device. The app works with Wi-Fi and mobile data switched off.

If you read nothing else, you have the important part.

Who this is from

Ember ("the app") is an independent iOS app for timing study, exercise, reading, meditation and deep work. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. If anything here is unclear, email **mirzaabuzarmunir@gmail.com**.

What we collect

Nothing.

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth. We do not offer or require an account. We do not run a server that receives your information, so there is no database of Ember users anywhere.

What the app stores on your device

To do its job, Ember saves the following locally on your iPhone or iPad:

- Sessions you record — the activity, the start and end time, and the length

- Your activities and what you have named them

- Preferences — default session length, chosen clock face, digit colour, background, ambient sound and volume, 24-hour time, seconds, rotation and the time zone you picked for the clock

- Goals, daily targets and streaks

This stays on your device. It is included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone or iPad, and it is removed when you delete the app.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Ember uses them to tell you a session or a Pomodoro round has ended, and to send the optional daily reminder if you switch it on. These are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is pushed from a server, and we will never send you a marketing notification.

Exporting your own data

Ember can export your sessions as a CSV file. That file is created on your device and goes wherever you choose to send it. Once you have shared it, it is outside the app and this policy no longer covers it.

What we do not do

- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers

- No analytics, usage tracking or session recording

- No third-party SDKs

- No selling, renting or sharing of information — there is nothing to sell

- No profiling and no automated decision-making

- No location tracking. Choosing a city for the world clock is something you type; the app never reads your location.

Information Apple receives

Downloading Ember is a transaction between you and Apple, not with us. Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated statistics — how many people downloaded the app in a country, for example — and, if you have opted in to sharing with developers, anonymised crash reports. Neither identifies you. This is handled under Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

Children

Ember is a timer. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age where you live). There are no accounts, no messaging, no user-generated content and no advertising, so there is nothing for a child to disclose.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you: access, correction, deletion, portability and the right to object.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to look up, correct, export or delete. The data Ember creates is on your device and under your control — you can delete individual sessions in the app, and deleting the app removes all of it. We have never sold or shared personal information, because we have never had any.

Security

What Ember stores stays on your device, protected by your device's own passcode and encryption. Anything you sync is protected by your Apple Account and Apple's encryption.

Changes to this policy

If Ember gains a feature that changes anything above, this page will be updated before that feature ships and the date at the top will change. If a future version ever collects personal data, we will ask for your consent first. It will not happen quietly in an update.
